Joel looked after our departure in the wee hours of the darkness and drove us to the airport.
We flew out of Auckland on the wings of the morning with the sun at our backs.
A good flight to Sydney where it was a bit of rush to the next flight a bus to another plane and another good flight read eat sleep watch a movie.
It was good to see Robert waiting for us at Alice Springs with a big Nissan Patrol 4.+ litre big roof rack, water medical kit etc. 2spare tyres, satellite phone, still plenty of room for our bags and banjo, also for the groceries and bedding and things we needed to get,a good motel to stay in and next afternoon we were on the road for the long drive.
After stopping at Tea Tree Hotels Australia's most central Hotel we were cruising along 130km an hour the speed limit . It amused me you slow down to 100km for the roadworks!
Anyway getting along the road there was a car stopped on the side of the road a we stopped to help one of the Aboriginal men said to tell Richard Franks he has white p6 at Big Man Walk Robert soon found out who hold of Richard and told them of the problem Richard said he was heading south he would get another tyre for the blowout.
we had another stop on the way at Karlu Karlu the Devils Marbles outstanding big round massive rocks, will send a picture when I can can get them out of the phone . I need a Tony Macdonald to help me.
The snake on the road didn't bother us, in fact I didn't even see it however Karen did.
Tuiana and Caitlin were pleased to see us they had they keys for our house and and had started cleaning . this was night time now.
It is nice house but no one has been it for a while so the cockcroaches, spiders and frogs had made it their holiday home.
We have spent a bit of time working on it the frogs in the toilet were there till yesterday they when you flushed it another one would be readyr for a live capture .
Karen wondered why the jug would turn off at breakfast time she lifted and a hot frog jumped out! Frog flavoured tea is first for me.
We have banished about nine form the house they are pink frogs who have come after the we. It is windy time now fine and warm each day.
We were laughing about the frogs and Karen reminded me
of the message from frog is , fully rely on God! f.r.o. g.
People here have been friendly and welcoming.
Our house is on the edge of a very big desert, daily we see people walking to and from to to Mulga camp, Wuupa camp Tingkarli camp Kargaru humpi camp, Kargau tin camp and Kargaru proper camp.
More stories later went to see Micky Nothing today but he wasn't home he is very old man , Robert fed his dogs and left food for him.
We met some people at the Uniting Church Op shop today and will see them tomorrow at Church.
Went to three lawn sales (garage sales, there is no lawn only red dust!) this morning bought outside table and chair set.
Will say bye for now. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Arohanui Ian, Karen, and Tuiana
