A short tribute to Paul Schmid

Every now and then someone comes into your life who blesses you in a special way. Paul was such a person
he did this through his music.
I met him at the Miners Hut in Reefton. When he said he was a bass player I asked if he would like to play in the church music team. He readily accept and was first here on Saturday morning for practice.
Paul was an excellent player who humbly shared his gift with others.
He was patient with Cody (a teenager) who was on the drums explaining different beats to him.
He would talk music theory with Esme who is 90 years old and playing the keyboard and piano.
He a had the ability to fit in with others, and music was the common ground.whether with Ina ,Barbara, Katy , or Joel.
I know Di, and Barry another 90 year old musician will miss their sessions over on Grey Road..

He had a love of geology, while looking at the rocks around here I said to Karen.' Paul would know what these are.'
Paul I only knew you a few months yet I am glad you passed our way, we are the richer for having known you.
God bless you and I 'm sure the celestial choir has a better beat with you there.
